Baked Italian Fig Balls
This is a unique and special product which uses the most ancient recipe known for preserving figs and the very first form of packaging known to man! Each ball is 200g and comes in cases of x12.
The fruit is picked from the tree when it is mature, divided into ‘ balls’ and wrapped in the green fig leaf. It is then baked in the oven to bring out the natural and unique flavours of the fig, along with an intense aroma which is reminiscent of the luxuriant fig orchards of Calabria.
From producers Artibel and made with 100% Italian figs from Calabria, for 2,500 years known as the land of the fig, these baked fig balls are handmade – soft, succulent and rich in aroma. Very tasty, full of minerals – rich in iron, phosphorous, calcium, bromine, magnesium, copper, manganese – a tonic for the body.
HOW TO EAT ?
Open the leaf and eat as a whole fruit, or cut into pieces and serve as several separate portions. An excellent accompaniment to red or white wine, sweet dessert wine and liqueurs.
Fantastic served with cheeses such as pecorino, parmesan, gorgonzola as well as soft cheeses such as goats cheese, ricotta and taleggio. Also goes very well with cold cuts such as ham, bresaola.
A harmonious and balanced symphony of tastes, aromas and beauty. Unforgettable !
