Used in the making of dal and other vegetable dishes, fenugreek is thought to reduce blood sugars and aid digestion. Fenugreek has also been used in traditional Chinese medicines for thousands of years.

Porcini mushrooms have a bold flavour that compliments stews and casseroles alike. Porcini mushrooms are also wild mushrooms and highly sought after by discerning chefs the world over.
Made from pimiento peppers, smoked over an oak fire and ground into fine powder, smoked paprika has unsurprisingly a smoky tasted and is often used in paella dishes.

Blended coriander, cumin, black peppercorns, turmeric, red chilli, cardamon, cinnamon and cloves this spice is a classic for chicken dishes from the Indian subcontinent.
Good for the brain and heart turmeric is another spice used in cooking for thousands of years. It might also be useful in preventing the onset of Alzheimer’s disease. Add to rice, roasted vegetables, even scrambled eggs.
